As the prosecution of Captain Larkins was clearly undertaken by Government I am under the necessity of insisting on Lind Stanley's arrangement, and of directing you to deduct the fees, which appear to have been paid to the Acting Attorney General for his services on this occasion, from the Attorney General's next Salary unless that Officer can shew any good and sufficient reason against that proceeding.
